Privacy Policy

My Cosmic Rise (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Red Clay Visions LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Montana, USA. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our application and related services.
By creating an account or using My Cosmic Rise, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Email address — required to create an account, receive emails, and reset your password.
- Birth date — used to calculate your sun sign, numerology numbers, and daily personal year/month/day cycles.
- Birth time (optional) — used to calculate your rising sign and planetary house positions. If not provided, rising sign and houses cannot be determined.
- Birth location — city and country you enter, which we geocode (via OpenCage) to latitude, longitude, and timezone. Used to calculate your natal chart and local sidereal time.
- Display name — the name you enter during onboarding, used for numerology calculations and to personalise reading text.
- Journal entries — text you write in the daily journal. Stored privately in our database and never shared with third parties or used to train any AI model.
- Payment information — billing details for Premium subscriptions. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe; we store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID — never your raw card number.
Information collected automatically:
- Server-side request logs including IP address, browser type, and timestamps — retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
- Reading cache data (your generated daily readings stored to avoid regenerating them on each page load).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Calculate and display your natal chart, numerology profile, daily transits, moon phase guidance, and daily readings.
- Generate personalised reading text via the Anthropic Claude API using your astrological and numerological data.
- Send transactional emails: account confirmation, password reset, and optional daily reading digest (via SendGrid).
- Process subscription payments and manage your billing relationship (via Stripe).
- Authenticate your identity and maintain session security (via Supabase Auth).
- Improve the service and fix bugs.
- Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising or behavioural tracking.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate My Cosmic Rise. Each is subject to its own privacy policy:
Supabase — Privacy Policy
Database, authentication, and session management. Your profile, birth data, chart data, journal entries, and reading history are stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS infrastructure in the United States. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-Level Security policies ensure only your authenticated account can access your records.
Anthropic (Claude API) — Privacy Policy
AI language model used to generate your daily reading text. We send a reading context payload to the API that includes: your first name, birth date, birth location, zodiac sign data, moon phase, and numerology numbers. We do not send your email, journal entries, or payment information to Anthropic. Per Anthropic's API usage policy, API inputs are not used to train their models.
Stripe — Privacy Policy
Payment processing for Premium subscriptions. We pass your email and subscription intent to Stripe; your payment card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form and never transmitted to our servers. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID.
SendGrid (Twilio) — Privacy Policy
Transactional email delivery for account confirmation, password reset links, and optional daily reading digest emails. We pass your email address and reading content to SendGrid for delivery.
OpenCage Geocoding — Privacy Policy
Converts the birth city and country you enter during onboarding into precise latitude, longitude, and IANA timezone values required for astrological calculations. Only your birth location query text is sent to OpenCage.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases hosted on AWS in the United States. All connections use TLS encryption in transit. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest. Row-Level Security database policies ensure that only your authenticated session can read or write your records — no other user can access your data.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures. However, no system is completely secure. In the event of a breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
5. Data Retention
- Your account and personal data are retained for as long as your account is active.
- Daily reading caches are retained for up to 90 days then purged automatically.
- Journal entries are retained until you delete them or close your account.
- Server request logs are retained for up to 30 days.
- Upon account deletion, all personal data — birth data, chart data, journal entries, reading history, and payment identifiers — is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate statistics may be retained indefinitely.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR and Applicable Privacy Laws
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another jurisdiction that provides similar privacy rights, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Most data can be updated directly in Profile settings.
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
- Right to data portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON).
- Right to restrict processing: ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Right to object: object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

7. Account and Data Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile page within the app (Profile → Delete Account). Upon deletion we immediately revoke your session. All personal data is permanently purged from our database within 30 days. If you have an active Premium subscription, your access continues until the end of the current billing period, then is cancelled automatically with Stripe.
You may also request deletion by emailing support@redclayvisions.com. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies necessary for authentication — specifically, a secure HTTP-only session cookie managed by Supabase Auth. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics cookies.
9. Children's Privacy
My Cosmic Rise is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe we have collected data from a child under the applicable age, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
